Dental polishing removes surface stains from the front and back teeth. Polishing, on the other hand, can be used to remove plaque. Dental polishing and regular cleaning tools are also used in tandem at times. Dental polishing can be done before or after a dental hygiene appointment. The majority of people are accustomed to having it completed at the end of their visit. It is, however, equally effective if done at the beginning of the visit. Polishing is accomplished by applying prophy paste, which is made up of polishing and cleaning agents. Sodium fluoride, found in prophy paste, has a few dental benefits. The paste is available in fine, medium, or coarse grit depending on the amount of stain present.
